Don Shula Buys Beachfront Condo

Don Shula’ company paid $5.53 million for a condo in the Four Seasons Residences at the Surf Club in Surfside. It has been reported that the money came out of the NFL Hall of Fame members’s company, with the sale being made by SC Residences Condominium LLC, an affiliate of developer Fort Partners.

The unit in question is that of S-205 in the building at 9001 Collins Ave and it was sold to Magdalene Francis LLC. Curiously enough, Magdalene Francis LLC has the same address as Shula’s longtime home in Indian Creek Village. The condo stretches out to a total of 3,925 square feet, with four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. The price ended up equating to $1,408 per square foot.

The Four Seasons at the Surf Club features 2 massive, 12-story towers and a 72-room hotel. The residence boasts an impressive guest list that includes: Miami Heat President Pat Riley, former Merrill Lynch & Co. Chairman and CEO E. Stanley O’Neal, billionaire developer Richard LeFrak, Chicago billionaire Neil G. Bluhm, Canadian billionaire Aldo Bensadoun, Avista Capital Partners co-CEO Thompson Dean, billionaire Groupon co-founder Eric Lefkofsky, Goldman Sachs Lead Director Adebayo O. Ogunlesi, SEE Eyewear CEO Richard S. Golden, Gracie Capital CEO Daniel Nir, GCM Grosvenor Chairman and CEO Michael J. Sacks, Digicon CEO Joseph Thomas Elbling, former Publix Super Markets CEO Charles H. Jenkins, former S&T Industries President Beth Dozoretz, and First Manhattan Co. Senior Managing Director Todd W. Green.

A look back at Shula’s groundbreaking career - he is the NFL's all-time leader in victors (347), games coach (526) and most consecutive seasons coached (33). He coached the Miami Dolphins from 1970 to 1995, winning Super Bowls in 1972 and 1974.
